Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MakeUp Eraser good for sensitive skin?
Yes. The MakeUp Eraser is dermatologist recommended for sensitive skin. It contains no alcohol, fragrance, dyes, or preservatives — the most common irritants in disposable wipes and liquid removers. Our clinical study found 92% of users reported skin felt more hydrated after use, and 100% felt skin was cleaner. Because it removes makeup physically (not chemically), your skin's natural moisture barrier stays intact.
Are MakeUp Erasers cruelty-free and vegan?
Yes! All MakeUp Erasers are cruelty-free & 100% vegan.
How does it work?
The Original MakeUp Eraser is powered by SmartErase Technology™ — a patented fiber system that uses just water to physically lift and release makeup from pores. The specific fiber composition (density, thickness, and structure) creates a capillary action when wet, drawing makeup out without chemicals. The short-fiber side removes makeup; the long-fiber side gently exfoliates to prep skin for better product absorption. It's clinically proven to remove makeup 2.5x more effectively than disposable wipes.
Does it remove waterproof makeup?
Yes — including waterproof mascara, long-wear foundation, matte liquid lipstick, and tinted SPF. For stubborn waterproof formulas, use warm water and press the short-fiber side gently against the skin for a few seconds before wiping. A second pass handles anything left behind.
How do I know when to replace my MakeUp Eraser?
MakeUp Erasers will eventually wear down the more you use and launder them. Once your fibers are no longer standing straight up and the cloth doesn't feel extremely soft anymore, it may be time to replace.
How do I use it?
Machine wash before first use. Fully wet your MakeUp Eraser in warm water — the warmer, the better. Use the short-fiber side to remove your makeup, then flip to the long-fiber side (the side with the tag) to gently exfoliate. Follow with your regular cleanser and skincare routine.
What's the difference between the PRO and the 7-Day Set?
Both use the same SmartErase Technology™ — the difference is size. The PRO is one full-size eraser, best for heavy makeup days or daily home use. The 7-Day Set includes seven daily-size erasers — one for each day of the week — so you wash the full set at the end of the week rather than rinsing daily. Same performance, different routine.
What's the difference between Classics and Neutrals?
Performance is identical — both use SmartErase Technology™ and work the same way. The difference is purely aesthetic. Classics feature bold colorways (pink, purple, red, blue). Neutrals feature muted, earthy tones — taupe, mocha, warm white, creams — for a clean girl aesthetic.
What is the Silver Infused Collection?
The Silver Infused Collection adds antimicrobial silver to the standard eraser fabric, designed for blemish-prone and acne-prone skin. It offers the same makeup removal performance as the classic eraser, with the added benefit of inhibiting bacterial growth on the cloth between washes.
Is it worth the price?
Yes. The PRO costs $20 and is machine washable up to 200 times. Disposable wipes cost roughly $6–9 per pack — at one to two wipes per night, that's $80–200/year. One MakeUp Eraser pays for itself within the first month.
Is it really just water — no cleanser needed?
Just water removes your makeup. That said, we recommend following with your regular cleanser as a second step — not to remove more makeup, but to cleanse away sweat, pollution, and excess oil from the day. Think of the MakeUp Eraser as step one; your cleanser as step two.
Does MakeUp Eraser remove sunscreen?
Yes! MakeUp Eraser erases all SPF and sunscreens, making it perfect for all ages. The Sunscreen Eraser is specifically designed to remove tinted, zinc, and mineral SPF from the face, neck, and chest.
an I use it around my eyes?
Yes. It's safe for use around the eye area, including for removing mascara, liner, and eye shadow.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Because it removes makeup with just water and contains no chemical ingredients, it's generally considered safe. As with anything during pregnancy, check with your provider if you have specific concerns.
Can I use cleanser, micellar water, or other products with my MakeUp Eraser?
Of course! Even though MakeUp Erasers only require water, we play well with others. You can add cleanser or any other product for an added benefit.
Do I need to wash my face after I use my MakeUp Eraser?
We definitely recommend you continue with your normal skincare routine after using your MakeUp Eraser. It's best to erase your makeup first, then use your cleansers & actives on your bare skin for best results.
